About Me

Naomi, Lee Ying Yuet is a pianist known for her expressive solo performances and thoughtful interpretations. Equally engaged with classical and contemporary repertoire, she seeks to foster deep connections with audiences through her music. 

 

A prizewinner in multiple international competitions, Naomi received First Prize in the Liszt Etude Class at the 20th Hong Kong-Asia Piano Open Competition (2018), First Runner-Up at the International Liszt Ferenc Competition in Budapest (2021), First Runner-Up at the Hong Kong Generation Next Arts Piano Competition (2021), and Second Runner-Up at the 3rd World Piano E-Competition Napolinova (2022). She is also a recipient of the Academy Local Scholarship and the Society of APA Merit Award. 

  

Naomi has refined her artistry through masterclasses with internationally acclaimed musicians, including Sofya Gulyak, Bruce Brubaker, Li Ming-qiang, Gabriel Kwok, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Leslie Howard, Shir Semmel, Enrico Elisi, Scott Smith, Ksenia Nosikova, Hong Xu, and Nancy Loo. She has performed at festivals such as the IPPA Conero International Piano Festival (Italy) and the HKAPA Festival, and her solo performances have been featured on RTHK Radio 4’s programme, including School Concert Hall (2020), Academy Rachmaninoff Week (2023), and Cantilena (2024). 

 

While primarily focused on solo performance, Naomi is passionate about collaboration. She works with young vocalists, composition students, and chamber ensembles, particularly woodwinds and cello, and contributes as a rehearsal and accompaniment pianist in opera productions. These experiences reflect her versatile and holistic approach to music-making. 

 

Her musical development was shaped at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), where she completed a double major in piano and voice through the Junior Music Programme. She continued in the Bachelor of Music (Honours) programme, studying piano under Dr. Tao Chang, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree at the Peabody Conservatory with Dr. Steven Spooner.
