Schumann Faschingsschwank aus Wien, op. 26 - 4th movement

One of my favourite excerpts from Schumann, this movement feels bittersweet — tender yet quietly searching. Its melody unfolds like a love letter, intimate and deeply personal, while the harmony grows with imagination and subtle colour. Beneath its warmth lies a quiet self-reflection, as if Schumann were looking inward, tracing memories that are both joyful and fragile. The music breathes between longing and calm, capturing that delicate space where affection and introspection meet.
